Hardware Design Engineer - Permanent - Glasgow, Edinburgh, or Prestwick (hybrid)

Evolve IT Recruitment are hiring for an exciting new opportunity with our ambitious client that is a leader in providing innovative products and solutions in the global video surveillance industry. Our client is keen to hire someone that thrives in a team-based and highly collaborative culture, where learning new technology and having fun are as important as your design and support in delivering to a leading manufacturing process. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects, applying your expert knowledge and skills to new product development, supporting the full lifecycle from concept to manufacture.

Ideally your background will include digital design and development, schematic capture, and EMC design practices, as well as any experience in PCB layouts and FPGA development. Our client has offices in Prestwick, Glasgow, and Edinburgh - you can be office based or work hybrid - they are happy to support what suits you and helps you to achieve your best work.

Responsibilities:

- You will be responsible for new product development, supporting the full lifecycle from concept to manufacture

- Maintain and update existing hardware designs

- Manage external resources as required to deliver your projects

- Work with the Design team, to meet brand and design requirements

- Support the testing and debugging of new hardware, developing and utilising test software as required.

- Aid the development of production test tools and software

- Work with the software team, assist in the management and control of software releases

Essential:

- Digital Design and Development

- Schematic Capture

- EMC Design Practices

- Test and Debugging

- Generating production documentation

Desirable:

- Analogue Design experience

- Any experience of OrCAD, Design Spark schematic capture packages

- PCB Layout and FPGA development - VHDL, Altera, Lattice, Timing closure

- Firmware development - Microcontroller or Linux

- PCB Rework - Surface mount assembly
