At Comcast Silicon Valley Innovation Center (CSV) we're changing the way America views sports and entertainment. We are integrating interactive features into the customers TV experience. If you love being on the cutting edge, we would love for you to be a part of changing Comcast's history. We're looking for a dedicated and passionate software engineer to join our XMiDT/Webpa team. If you have experience building scalable cloud based platforms, you fret over creating the perfect API, you love to collaborate with other development teams and you want to create magic for millions of users, join us. We are waiting for your energy, passion, and creativity. The team is small and consists of software engineers and a QA automation engineers. The team is a true DevOps team so we can both build and learn from our software. You will work closely with Product and a variety of different engineering teams that integrate either with us or we integrate with them. You will be responsible for developing open source components for the XMiDT, Webpa and future services. Our environment is a highly collaborative and dynamic environment involving development, troubleshooting and testing. Existing components and new components are developed in Go. The XMiDT/Webpa projects are open source projects focused on providing an always on connection with all of our consumer premise equipment hardware. The projects focus on security, high performance, large scale and failure tolerance. You love what you do because it makes a difference to our customers and delights them. You are the future of awesomeResponsibilities: Write server side code and unit tests in Go Design, develop and implement highly scalable, resilient and robust cloud-based services Manage development, continuous integration and deployment for various microservices in the platform. Work closely with QA to create automated application level test suites. Apply industry best-practice software standards and technology to complex business problems. Present and defend architectural, design, and technical choices to internal and external audiences and develop prototypes quickly.Required Qualifications: 1+ years software programming experience in mainstream programming languages 1+ year of Go or equivalent like Java or Python Open Source contributions (please provide github user id) Experience in developing cloud based web services and ability to design for performance, reliability and scalability Experience working in large-scale production deployments, performance tuning and troubleshooting. Experience in designing software architecture for high volume applications Experience in designing, developing and maintaining APIs for web services Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any related field Solid foundation in software design and algorithms with strong analytical and debugging skillsPreferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science or any related field Some DevOps/deployment and operational visibility experience Experience in Web Applications development Experience in cloud deployments with AWS/Azure/OpenStack Good communication skills with both technical and non-technical audienceAbout Comcast Silicon ValleyLooking for an environment with a startup vibe where your ideas affect millions of users and go from conception to deployment in a matter of days or weeks instead of months?
