ServiceNow Developer

Salary: Band E £43,116 - £47,076 per annum (dependent on skills and experience).

Contract Type: Open Ended

Location: Science and Technology Facilities Council, Daresbury Laboratory, Warrington

*This role is also eligible for up to £1,000 Responsibility and Retention Allowance per annum

We are recruiting a versatile ServiceNow Developer with experience in supporting and maintaining ServiceNow instances. You'll be responsible for configuring and building modules, forms, and workflows in the ServiceNow Platform, you will also provide administration, application development, maintenance, and technical support techniques to configure robust solutions. You will be expected to have administration-level experience in technical configuration and development of the ServiceNow toolset.

Responsibilities:

  • Building solutions and processes that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Support maintenance, continual service improvement, and new requirements.
  • Create design specifications based on out-of-the-box functionality and user needs.
  • Running the Hartree Centre ServiceNow portal ensuring it continually meets customer needs.
  • Providing technical input on the capabilities of the ServiceNow platform and insights on the preferred/standard methods to implement solutions.
  • Be actively engaged with user needs in a technical and business setting.
  • Technical delivery (including development, testing and implementation) using several technical skills such as HTML, XML, JavaScript/AJAX, Angular J, Bootstrap, Integrations, web services, SOAP, email, MID, etc.
  • Collaborate, service support and share experiences.
  • Proactively keeps ServiceNow skills current.
  • Development process optimisation.

Person specification:

  • Certified ServiceNow Administrator, including working or developing in the following programming languages: HTML or HTML 5, CSS3, JavaScript, JavaScript API, Client and Server Side Scripting. Experience with Scripting in ServiceNow (Business Rules, UI Pages, UI Macros, Events/Actions etc.)
  • Working experience with ServiceNow module implementation and support, ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM), ServiceNow Customer Service Management (CSM).
  • Experience configuring workflows using standard methodology.
  • Solid understanding of technical components such as API's, LDAP, VPN, SSL, SSO, Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) and other such technologies.
  • Meeting user needs by design, prototype, implement, test, and deploy business rules, technical solutions, such as client scripts, UI pages/actions/policies, scheduled job, import sets and transform maps, ACLs and notifications.
  • Awareness of security configuration requirements.
