Senior Network Engineer (Permanent)

Our client is seeking an experienced senior Network Engineer to join their team and support the design, deployment, and management of their full-fibre broadband network across the South of England.
The Role
Based in Portsmouth with travel to data centres and network sites as needed, you will:
- Configure and manage Layer 2 and 3 network elements (Routers, Switches, CGNAT, Firewalls/VPNs, OLTs).
- Optimise traffic and manage peering and transit connections.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, resolving issues effectively.
- Perform upgrades, security patching, and technology refreshes.
- Maintain network documentation and best practices.
- Collaborate with vendors and support teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of network engineering experience in an ISP environment.
- Strong Juniper expertise (command line essential); certifications such as JNCIS-SP or JNCIS-ENT preferred.
- Deep knowledge of IPv4/IPv6, EVPN, MPLS, VXLAN, CGNAT, DHCP, DNS, and GPON networks.
- Experience with FTTH platforms, particularly OLTs.
- Strong troubleshooting and network performance skills.
- Valid UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
