Hybrid - 1 day per week in the office
The Environment and Release Manager role provides leadership and accountability for all CI/CD and project led deliverables for our client's core applications. They will use their knowledge to agree and document an environment and release strategy to govern and manage the requirements for Infrastructure and Application Development within the Azure Cloud Infrastructure. This will require the development of schedules, coordinating changes, releases and deployments in a complex technology landscape, managing integrated environments with high levels of automation.
Roles and Responsibilities;
Lead and govern the technical release processes required to implement changes to our core applications whilst assuring the quality of deliverables
Responsible for agreeing, documenting and managing the environment strategy, plan and release schedule for each Application, working with the support teams and wider stakeholders
Reviewing, developing and managing the DevOps repositories, pipeline, code branching, with version control and governance
Leading technical team members and driving changes to meet the requirements as set out in the environment and release strategy
This role requires someone with extensive experience working within complex environments, they need to have strong interpersonal skills to be able to collaborate with both technical and non technical team members across several teams, to be able to pull together the information required to be successful. This role requires a high level understanding of the infrastructure and technologies and may require some hands on technical support, however this is mostly a management role. A systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving is also required with demonstrable leadership, great communication skills, in particular: presenting, collaborating and partnering with stakeholders.
Your skill set for this role will include:
Working knowledge of Core Azure skills: App Services and Containerisation, APIM, Azure AD, App Insights & Azure Monitor, App Gateway, DevOps pipelines, Terraform/IaC resource deployment, ETL - ADF/data warehousing
Experience with a previous development background with managing multiple release streams across multiple applications utilising: YAML, SSDT and DevOps tools
Experience in establishing product/delivery specific environment and release strategies and plans, confident working with a wide range of stakeholders
