IT Support Engineer - Temp to Perm - Northampton/Remote (Contract/Permanent)

Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire Country: UK
 

We are currently recruiting for multiple IT Support Engineers to assist on a temp to permanent basis based in the Northampton area, the contract will initially be for 3 months with the view to go permanent after. The successful candidates will be responsible for being the first port of call for all of our customers looking for problem solving support on all infrastructure and network queries. This will also be working a 4 on 4 off 12 hour shift pattern split between day shifts and night shifts. The day shifts will all be on site whilst the night shifts can be completed remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will offer support on a wide range of technical areas: infrastructure, networks and security.
  • Support various technologies: Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, Windows, Office 365, Active Directory
  • Collaborate with colleagues, triaging and escalating incoming support load, ensuring maximum team efficiency, whilst offering excellent uncommon service' to all.
  • Build trust and good rapport with our customers/end users (c. 30% of your time) and technical teams (c. 70% of your time).
  • Proactive in updating customers in a friendly, professional and efficient way .
  • Be a great colleague: helping and supporting the wider team to deliver a great service to our customers.

Skills and experience

  • 1+ year infrastructure support desk experience.
  • Experience in an MSP (Managed Service Provider), Internal IT Support desk or telecommunications environment.
  • Knowledge of Networking & Servers.
  • Proactive problem solver who enjoys getting to root cause' to reduce future work load .
  • Continuous improvement mindset that enjoys keeping alerts today for clean running environments.
  • Diligent and routine server maintenance, patching and backups ability .
  • A collaborative personality with friendly customer facing skills .
  • A solid team member who appreciates the value of processes and systems .
  • Ability to work 4 days on and 4 days off shift pattern, which includes nights (6 -to-6).
