Mid-Level & Senior Data Scientists- Hybrid/Bristol - Up to £90k (Permanent)

Location: Bristol Country: UK Rate: £50k - £90k per annum + Perf. based Bonus, Pension
 

Mid-Level and Senior Data Scientist Roles - Hybrid/Bristol

Location: Hybrid/Bristol - 2 days in office per week min.

Mid-Level Data Scientist:

Location: Hybrid/Bristol

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

Seeking an Engineer with a curious mindset and an understanding of bespoke data transformation, without the need for the crutch of Cloud Platforms at all times

  • Develop, enhance, and manage intricate data ingestion pipelines.
  • Integrate advanced machine learning elements into data pipelines.
  • Implement data quality metrics and dashboards for monitoring.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and cross-functional teams in an agile setting.
  • Use modern NLP techniques to enrich data comprehension and processing.
  • Ensure the efficiency, scalability, and dependability of data ingestion pipelines.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in developing data ingestion pipelines with advanced ML elements.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, PySpark, and Databricks.
  • Experience with modern NLP techniques and tools.
  • Familiarity with Git for version control.
  • Knowledge of the insurance sector is advantageous but not required.

Senior Data Scientist

Location: Hybrid/Bristol (Max 2 days per week)

Salary: £50,000 - £90,000 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute a stochastic cyber risk model.
  • Perform complex data analysis to extract insights and identify trends in cyber risk.
  • Translate model insights into actionable strategies for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with underwriters, engineers, and cyber risk analysts to integrate the cyber risk model with other systems.
  • Stay updated with the latest in data science, cyber security, and risk modelling.
  • Utilise probabilistic modelling techniques to account for uncertainties in climate science and financial modelling.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a data scientist or quantitative risk modeller.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field (advanced degrees preferred).
  • Expertise in applied machine learning, probability, statistics, and quantitative risk modelling.
  • High proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in big data technologies (Databricks, PySpark).
  • Experience in the insurance, cyber, or related domain preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Knowledge of Monte Carlo, copular, and marginal techniques.
  • Experience in probabilistic modelling and uncertainty accounting.

Skills and Competencies:
