JVM Developer - Finance (Contract)

Location: London Country: UK Rate: £800 - £900 per day
 

Strategic Prime Brokerage Developer

Our client, a leading global investment bank, has engaged us to find an exceptional developer for their ambitious Prime Brokerage Technology transformation initiative. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge Strategic Prime Brokerage Platform in the heart of London's financial district.

On behalf of our client, we are seeking candidates with:

  • JVM-based development experience (Kotlin, Java, or Scala)
  • Strong background in Agile methodologies and quality-led engineering
  • Expertise in test-driven development, CI/CD, microservices, and cloud engineering
  • Proven track record of successful delivery to business users
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with product owners

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Prime Brokerage Processing components using Java/Kotlin
  • Focus on Lifecycle, Valuation, and Regulatory Reporting
  • Develop and implement automated testing
  • Participate in Agile team processes, including CI/CD
  • Contribute to design, planning, and estimation discussions

The ideal candidate will be proactive, diligent, quick to learn, and thrive in a collaborative environment. Experience with tools like Jenkins, Grafana, Elastic Stack, SQL Server, Kubernetes, and OpenShift is beneficial. A degree in a technical/quantitative subject is preferred, and experience in Swaps or Prime Brokerage is desirable but not essential.

This London-based role offers the opportunity to work closely with key business stakeholders and the core PB development team, accelerating your learning curve and impact on critical business and regulatory deliveries.
