Are you looking for your next technical writing challenge? Do you enjoy working with API documentation? Does the thought of setting up an API documentation set from scratch excite you? Then look no further as this could be the role for you!
Our innovative, fast-growing software client is looking for a technical author with significant API experience to join their friendly technical communications team. Your main focus will be setting up the new API documentation set from scratch whilst also teaching the team how best to document APIs. You will also write and review a range of technical documentation such as user guides, release notes, and installation guides.
This company welcomes people with an inquisitive mind and new ideas to share.
You will have:
- At least two years' experience of setting up and creating API documentation.
- Any experience with React or JSON would be very useful.
- Working knowledge of agile approaches such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand highly complex technical ideas and explain them in simple, clear and concise terms.
- Experience working on multiple projects at once and in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to speak to people at all levels of the business and to clients.
- Enthusiasm and motivation to learn new skills.
The following are desirable, but not essential:
- Experience with technical authoring tools such as MadCap Flare, RoboHelp.
- A working knowledge of Git, HTML, CSS or JavaScript.
This is a hybrid role where you will be required to be onsite in our client's Greater Manchester office for one day a week. From September 2024 this will increase to two days per week. There is parking available onsite and it's a short walk/shuttle bus from the nearest train station.
