Cyber Security Architect -Lincoln (Contract)

Location: Lincoln Country: UK Rate: £825 per day Inside IR35
 

Location - Lincoln- Hybrid- Tuesday and Thursdays on site

Rate -Inside IR35 £825 per day

ROLE:

Local council have a need for a Cyber Security Engineer/Architect for a 5 month initial role with possible extensions

Your role will be:

To work with the Head of Cyber Security and other security and engineering colleagues both in house and through 3rd party provider, to identify, specify, plan and deliver a series of projects and initiatives to improve Cyber Security

Projects may include security improvements in M365, Azure, networks and Firewalls

Experience:

  • At least 5 years technical security experience
  • Strong technical skills including Azure, Microsoft Defender, M365 networking and Firewalls.
  • Able to work on own initiative, able to cut through challenges and keep the programme lead informed of progress
  • An ability to plan and drive the delivery of change to improve security
  • Able to analyse the situation, understand and communicate the security context, consider solutions (both tactical and strategic) and drive the delivery to completion
  • A good working knowledge of security best practice
  • Good working knowledge of vulnerability management

Desirable

  • A working knowledge of security testing tools would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of formal standards eg NIST/NCFC/CIS would be an advantage
  • Experience of specifying and implementing 3rd party SOC

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, related field or equivalent experience
  • Relevant certifications (eg, CISSP) are a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Relevant Microsoft Security certifications
