Creative Designer - Freelancer for our Government Client. London (12 months).

You will:

Answer briefs from teams across government with a varied design remit: from designing icons to putting together social post graphics; creating stickers to building the next iteration of our brand; or working on event design to creating clear presentations with brilliant design.

Create clean, modern graphics that work across multiple channels, devices, browsers and platforms

Develop a brand and design language that supports and clearly communicates our clients ' vision to deliver word-class, user-centred public services

Collaborate with colleagues across the Communications team and other stakeholders to produce the most effective creative content for the audience you are trying to reach, in a way that is consistent with the visual language of our client

Translate complicated ideas into clear, simple design: graphics, presentations and posters that are of a high quality and consistent with other design work

Make world-class creative assets that align with the wider design community's commitment to accessibility and user-centred design practices

Interested? Key skills:

Have an established portfolio that show standout graphic design skill, brand work and the ability to tailor design outcomes to the project and its audience

Be highly skilled in using the Adobe Suite: PhotoShop, Illustrator and Indesign

Experienced in deck design, building self-service asset libraries, creating brand guidelines, etc: the kind of briefs that help empower the wider business to create great design themselves and use the GDS brand correctly

Know how to remove complexity from intricate information

Have established digital and print production skill: know how to prepare design materials for print, screen and for social media

Can manage their own time, work directly with stakeholders, prioritise projects and deliver to changing deadlines
