Overview

• An industry-leading financial institution is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join the Data Acquisition team in a wider Markets Program Execution & Transformation team.
• As a Technical Business Analyst in this dynamic group, you will collaborate with various business units and functions to implement regulatory and cross-business transformational projects.
• Key words: Python, SQL, PySpark, Hadoop, Big Data, Data Warehouse, ETL, Hive, Impala

Details

• Day rate: ~£600-£650/day - Inside IR35
• Start date: ASAP
• Duration: end date 30/09/2025 (highly likely to be extended)
• Hybrid working - 3 days/week in the office

Key responsibilities of a Technical Business Analyst:

• Develop PySpark and SQL queries for data analysis and reconciliation
• Provide recommendations to enhance reporting processes
• Contribute to Hadoop environment architecture and design discussions
• Translate requirements into design and code
• Provide technical leadership on complex, high-impact projects
• Develop project artifacts (BRDs, FRDs, test planning documents)
• Manage individual project responsibilities and timelines

Required Skills and Experience for a Technical Business Analyst:

• 5+ years of Technical Business Analysis experience
• Expertise in SQL, Python, and Spark
• Familiarity with Hadoop/Big Data domain
• Knowledge of Data Warehouse/ETL design and development methodologies
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure
• Self-starter with independent work capabilities

Preferred Skills:

• Investment banking or financial services experience
• Exposure to Hive, Impala, and Spark ecosystem technologies
• Experience with Big Data pipelines and architectures
