Backend Engineer (Contractor) - we are seeking a Back End engineer to build the data and service layers enabling gamification and value dashboard capabilities, ensuring the platform delivers accurate, scalable, and fast data insights to drive user engagement. Recorded Future's Security Intelligence Solutions help clients stay on top of threats to their business. The Applications team builds and improves our web app, browser extension, and mobile app on top of our expansive data set.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain Back End services using Scala and GraphQL.
- Build and optimize Elasticsearch and MongoDB data structures to support Real Time analytics and gamification logic.
- Develop APIs for seamless integration with Front End dashboards.
- Ensure system scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Collaborate with Front End and fullstack engineers to ensure effective integration.
- Contribute ideas to support the company vision and challenge requirements to improve system quality and outcomes.
- Share knowledge and document Back End best practices for the team.
What you'll bring to the role
- 5+ years of Back End development experience.
- Proficiency in Scala, GraphQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, and Python.
- Experience supporting gamification systems or analytics-driven dashboards.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and API design.
Salary, benefits & compensation
The base salary range for this Full time position is $129,000-$193,500. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. This range reflects new hire salaries for the position across US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by state, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401K.
