Overview

The GMS Cost Estimator assembles and analyzes data to forecast profit and loss related to healthcare services, projects, or operational changes aiding financial planning and decision-making. Key responsibilities include cost analysis and forecasting, collaboration with stakeholders, cost management, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies, regulations, and statutes. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree (preferably in finance, accounting, engineering, or business), strong analytical and technical skills, experience in healthcare cost estimation, and preferred professional certifications such as CCP or CEP.

Responsibilities And Duties
  • Data Analysis and Cost Forecasting: Analyzing available documentation to understand scope, identifying cost-influencing factors, and using historical data, trends, and research for accurate projections.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Working with project teams and stakeholders, managing bids from vendors, and presenting detailed cost models and analyses to management and clients.
  • Cost Management and Optimization: Evaluating cost alternatives and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Assisting with regulatory compliance, including cost transparency requirements, and maintaining cost databases and documentation.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Additional responsibilities may be assigned as appropriate.
What You Will Need
  • Requires a University Degree and minimum 6-8 years of prior relevant experience; some roles may require graduate-level education (Master's or Doctorate). Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • 6 years in cost estimation techniques, modeling, and financial analysis, advanced Excel knowledge, and familiarity with industry software and databases.
  • Healthcare revenue cycle knowledge.
  • Experience with revenue cycle managed services or advisory services.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills for teamwork and meeting deadlines.
What Would Be Nice To Have
  • A degree in finance, accounting, engineering, or business administration is preferred.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications like Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) from the Association for the Advancement of Cost Estimating (AACE International) are preferred.

Salary: The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
