We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Frontend Platform team powering our Ambient AI products. This team builds and owns the core Front End foundations used across clinician-facing experiences: ambient capture, Real Time note generation, review & edit flows, copilot-style assistance, admin tooling, and integrations Embedded into clinical workflows. Ambient is a high-throughput, low-latency, high-reliability product used by clinicians during live patient encounters. The Front End platform is critical: it must be fast, resilient, accessible, and intuitive under real-world clinical conditions.

Your team's work directly impacts provider trust, documentation quality, and time saved per visit. This role is ideal for a leader who has scaled Front End platforms for complex, data-heavy, Real Time products and who is excited about owning the foundations that enable multiple Ambient product teams to move fast without sacrificing quality or safety.

People Leadership & Delivery

• Lead and grow a senior team of Front End platform engineers supporting Ambient AI
• Set clear technical and execution standards in a high-bar, healthcare-grade environment
• Coach engineers on scope ownership, technical decision-making, and cross-team influence
• Hire and develop engineers who can operate across platform, product, and design boundaries
• Own planning, execution, and delivery for platform initiatives with clear product impact

Ambient Frontend Platform Ownership

• Own the Front End platform used across Ambient experiences (web, mobile, Embedded surfaces)
• Lead architecture for Real Time and async workflows (audio capture, streaming updates, AI state transitions)
• Build and scale shared UI primitives, component libraries, and design systems used across Ambient
• Improve Front End performance, latency, reliability, and offline/poor-network behavior
• Establish patterns for error handling, loading states, partial data, and confidence signaling in AI workflows

Developer Experience & Scale

• Create strong Front End abstractions that reduce duplication across Ambient product teams
• Improve local dev, testing, CI/CD, and release workflows for Front End engineers
• Define standards for Front End observability, performance metrics, and user-impact monitoring
• Partner with Back End and ML teams to define clean contracts between AI systems and UI layers

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Partner deeply with Product to translate clinical workflows into scalable UI platforms
• Work closely with Design to evolve clinician-grade design systems and accessibility standards
• Collaborate with Compliance and Security to ensure Front End patterns meet healthcare requirements
• Influence Front End technical direction across the broader engineering organization

Technical Leadership

• Drive architectural reviews and RFCs for major Ambient Front End initiatives
• Help teams navigate tradeoffs between speed, quality, and safety in AI-driven UX
• Stay close enough to the code and architecture to unblock complex problems when needed
• Ensure platform decisions anticipate future scale (new care settings, modalities, and products)

What You Have

• 7+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years managing Front End or platform teams
• Experience leading Front End platforms, shared UI infrastructure, or design systems
• Strong expertise with modern Front End stacks (eg React, TypeScript, modern build tooling)
• Experience supporting real-time, data-intensive, or mission-critical user workflows
• Proven ability to deliver platform capabilities used by multiple product teams
• Strong communication skills and comfort influencing product and technical direction

Nice to Have

• Experience building clinician-facing, enterprise, or regulated products
• Familiarity with AI-driven or ML-powered user experiences
• Experience with mobile + web shared platforms or cross-surface design systems
• Background in healthcare, fintech, or other high-reliability domains

Compensation Range: $200K - $250K
