Assistant Director Solutions and Project Management Health Sciences IT (HSIT) is seeking a dynamic professional to fill a dual role that encompasses both Solutions Architect and Project Manager Supervisor responsibilities. The HSIT Research team provides support for the six schools of the health sciences. As such, they will collaborate closely with research teams and their Principal Investigators (PIs) to recommend existing solutions or design new services in support of research.
This position requires a strategic thinker with the ability to design and implement comprehensive IT solutions while overseeing project management activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical acumen and leadership skills to drive complex projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations. Key responsibilities include systems architecture design (on-prem, Azure, AWS), project planning, team supervision, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver innovative and efficient solutions.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of research experience, ideally in health sciences, along with systems architecture and project management. Must be able to communicate with non-technical people and think ahead to identify potential blockers.
Job Summary
Manages multiple large, diverse, and complex technical projects throughout their entire duration and leads team. Documents user stories and functional requirements, schedules project timelines, and monitors workflows. Ensures adherence to budget, timeline, scope, policies, and procedures.
