The Air District is accepting applications for the position of Manager I (Software Development Manager) in the Enterprise Technology Solutions Division. This is an open recruitment for one full-time, exempt, management position.
Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Director of Enterprise Technology Services, the incumbent is responsible for managing the in-house Software Development Team and all its functions and projects. The incumbent must possess a thorough understanding of project management, agile software development principles, and best practices and have the expertise to manage day-to-day agile development as well as a portfolio of multiple complex software development efforts in coordination with other technology teams and business partners.
The Software Development Manager is responsible for effective leadership of software development and DevOps, policy development and maintenance, and delivery of all assigned software development services. Responsibilities include overseeing the full software development lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance), managing software development projects, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards, and implementing efficient testing and DevOps processes through assistant managers. The role supports code quality assurance, version control, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and seamless integration of new features and updates. The Software Development team provides critical support to the organization by ensuring efficient, collaborative, and strategic use of software development services across lines of business and internal technology teams.

Qualifications
Minimum requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a job-related field.
- Four years of professional-level work experience, with at least two years in a lead role managing projects. Some positions may require specialized training, education, and experience.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary qualifications to perform the duties of the position will be considered.
